[Sulteric Drums]

Yes, you read that right. I wrote to RA Salvatore and got his permission (as much as he can give) to do this  mod. This can be a gathering place for ideas, requests, flames and what not.

 

It will be based on the same standalone logic that Viconia currently uses.

Why not Sarevok?
Or one bhaalspawn, not necessarily Abdel?

I did Viconia for my own benefit because she was always my favorite.

 

As far as Drizzt, more to work with and I've had many requests to do it.

idea: Romance him with Viconia if both mods installed, where the player has to assist them somehow to achieve that?

The two NPCs would have to be in the same mod. It's not impossible, I'm just not sure if I want to go that far.

I believe one mod indeed would have to handle the whole thing but to get to the actual NPC from the other mod is not that hard: getFormFromFile.

I just think this is an unexplored scenario in any other mods that can be fun: player to be the matchmaker for two followers with their story evolving while they follow.

 

Actually maybe more interesting would be just a like/hate meter between the two of them instead of a quest based story.

Different events may move the meter and the relation could be unsymmetrical between the two of them. Events like:

- player giving better items to one of them

- admiring each-other for the fighting skills, kills, execution of commands like lockpick/attack

- attacking the attacker of the other when one is in difficulty - and you shouldn't script that to happen, only count it if is the result of chance

- stepping on each-other toes because pure vanilla situation: blocking path, dealing a killing blow to an enemy the other did most of the damage

- etc

On different levels they would have different reactions:

- comments

- skill/damage bonuses/penalties when they are together or apart

- refusing orders if they both follow or if the other isn't around when they like eachother

- "accidentally" friendly fire during combat

- refusing to fight

Release the tension:

- player orders them to stop that, resulting in a penalty to the relationship with player

- a brawl if the relation is really low then it will reset

- a hug/kiss animation or something if is high

I recently started reading the books again (lost my place/what book years ago), just got through homeland in about 3 nights.

Now that I have the basics fleshed out for Drizzt I'm looking for someone that is good at modeling and making good looking characters to help me out with Drizzt. I don't want him looking like a typical Skyrim NPC. If you are interested or know of someone that may be please IM me!

Probably not but he will look killer. Slof is the only one that loves Drow more than i do so she will do him justice for sure. I'm going to be searching for custom armor ideas.

 

One thing I want to mention for the women out there, do not expect this to be a romance companion. Drizzt is dedicated to Cattie-Bre and I can't break that. R.A. Salvatore will get review rights on this, he will see the full script before it goes out.

I love the idea of good Ol' Rob reviewing the script for this mod, I am a big fan of his books, so I look forward to the finished product (The 1st companion mod I have ever been excited for).

Make sure Salvatore preffering you not to add the romance option before barring yourself. You may also want to wait until you read all the books, before choosing his equipment and keep in mind that you needn't to put him cronologically in the last book of the series, there are various points were years are passed from book to book.

Progress report: AlienSlof is now on the team and we are working together to get Drizzt together. his purple eyes and hair are there. I have a preliminary set of armor for him I need to get permission for. She has Guenhwyvar done but I haven't seen him yet. The hard part about that is getting him to appear from the statue. Not sure if it's even possible to build in all the idiosyncracies into it. I'm reading and writing in the meantime.

 

I may also have a rather huge surprise in store. I'm keeping quiet about it until I know more.

Guenhwyvar is done, I've see the pics and they're amazing. I have Drizzt dual wielding swords as well. He's brutal in combat, a total tank.

Drizzt isn't a tank, he's a Ranger who hits really hard & then bails out. As soon as he takes more than a few hits he's usually done. Problem is translating that into the Skyrim game mechanics. 

 

If you want armor ideas, you can go with the classic chain mail armor with a green forest cloak, or you can just look at the artwork that Todd Lockwood has done for most of the covers over the years.

Quick update. AlienSlof has finished the meshes for Guenhwyvar and I've gone created the panther. I'm now working on actually putting it in game and being controlable by Drizzt. My thought is that if you tell Drizzt to wait it will also tell Guenhwyvar to wait and so on. In the meantime Alienslof is working on Drizzt's appearance and the swords. I'm reading up on more of his story so I can write the story.

Hey, I thought that at least one of the links leads to the image of Slof's Guen   Anyway, have a good time reading the books. They are like a drug, once you start, you can't stop, until you read all of them.
