I've noticed SIGNIFICANT issues with textures loading right in front of me as I'm turning as well as generally low quality, low res textures for environments, objects, etc.

This bothers me since Crysis 2 on XB360 could produce MUCH better quality textures with SIGNIFICANTLY less pop-in/texture loading, yet id Tech 5 is supposed to be much more advanced.

We definitely recommend installing the game to your HDD (even if it's just one disc at a time). You'll see improved performance with the game installed.

I have installed all 3 discs on my HDD(which took over 1hr to install on a new 360 slim) and I am also experiencing the same problem only when loading a new scene or when I start up the game. After a moment or two the graphics tend to improve but it is annoying.

Only install the first 2 discs if you want your multiplayer to work properly. After installing the game it works beautifully. You folks have done an awesome job. This is coming from a 41 year old gamer that has been here since the ATARI days. Sweet graphics.

I've noticed some texture pop ups/slow rendering as well.

Don't get me wrong, it's not a game changer or deal killer. Just be nice to have it ring true 100% of the time.

Again, LOVE the game, thank you to all those who coded/developed this GEM!

I have a similar problem, after reaching a dead city, I've noticed big texture pop ups/slow rendering. In the earlier stages of the game the problem was less noticeable, but now has become unacceptable.

I must mention that I've installed all DVDs on my console hard drive, before I started to play the game.

I've registered just so that I can add my voice to the surprised many who are experiencing texture pop-in.

I really am totally gutted that the graphics, while lovely, are being spoiled by texture pop-in and generally low level textures everywhere.

I'm actually going to trade in the game today as I'm now finding it so distracting; didn't even redeem my Anarchy code.

What I find most shocking is that textures seem to load EVERY time you look at them. Look at an object, watch it go from low res to high, turn away, turn back and the same object LOADS AGAIN, every time.

Surely if the texture is in memory it shouldn't need to unload and load again? I can deal with a game that loads all the textures for a particular section at the start but this constant loading and reloading is baffling.

I constantly keep thinking I'm being attacked from some dark corner when actually it's a crate or something springing back to life - ridiculous.

Anyway, very disappointed.

p.s. I have all 3 discs installed on my 250GB HDD which is less than half full.

The textures sometimes take slightly less than a second to appear after a load eg entering a garage in wellspring etc but thats all ive noticed. The graphics are eyepoppingly good. I have installed disk 1&2 to hdd. What you may find, and I used to get it with mass effect 2... you may need to adjust to how your tv integrates with your box as it like my Panasonic Viera, the onboard signal processors were fighting with the xbox output at 1080p. There was a setting in my tv menue to take resolution from the source and everything is as it should be.

That clearly is not working:

In addition, I've had serious problems with sound and music not loading as well. It's a joke.

When WiiU gets out everyone will see how much X360 and PS3 suck. These games wouldn't look as good as they look if it wasn't for texture streaming, "not having stuff loaded into memory that you can't see currently"

I Agree that generally, the textures are very off-putting, really noticed it at it's extreme on the first city based mission. It's such a shame that you get the gist and the scope of what they are trying to do on what is old hardware, but it comes off looking like a slightly better Doom 3 (texture wise), which is no bad thing if your playing on an original xbox! Hey wait, that was a bit extreme, hub environments do look fantstic, and overal I love the look, feel and artsyle/design of the game, so thus far the texture issue is something I can live with, it's just not ideal is it? Great game though, I have been an id fan for many years, and I suspect people like myself are more willing to look past the visual issue's of what is still a GOOD game. I have the discs installed and there are many baffling moments of texture mayhem, but I grew up with tapes and c64 so maybe I am just that little bit more forgiving. Enjoy the gameplay first and foremost, still, a patch would be nice.

Have any of you experienced some kind of weird purple ghosting at the edge of objects and characters when paning the camera left to right? I have this issue on the PS3 and I'm concidering buying the game for the 360. I just wanna make sure this is not an issue on the 360.

Playing on 360 and haven't noticed any PURPLE ghosting yet. What you do see on 360 is quick loading of textures from ultra lowres to higher detail.
Depending on the size of the map (Dead City is HUGE and therefore has the worst textures! -> memory) this is more or less noticable. In fact it's only Dead City where i found it to be a bit of a problem. Nowhere else yet. But i'm still on disc 1.

I don't even mind the lower res textures so much. What I find really distracting is the slow texture streaming. Even with the game installed to the harddrive, I always see textures streaming into the environment every time I rotate my character. It doesn't ruin the game for me, but I'd rather not notice things like that at all. After listening to Carmack talk about the texture streaming advantages of installing to HDD, I was under the impression that it would essentially eliminate pop-in all together. Even so, it's an astoundingly gorgeous game and the fact that it all runs at a constant 60 fps is just damn impressive.
